70th Anniversary Ascent of the Conway Peak, Snowdonia

On 23rd March 1946 a party of six cadets climbed the crag of Clogwyn Mawr on the lower slopes of Snowdon. The Climbing Club of Great Britain promptly renamed it the Conway Crag.  You are invited to walk it 70 years on and to plant a Conway ensign.

The walk will take about 1.5 hours each way. Most of it is on the well made track up Snowdon but the last half mile is steep cross country walking with a bit of easy rock scrambling at the end - nothing too daunting though - there’s no actual climbing. More info here.
