Memorial Weekend at Anglesey to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the loss of the ship:
13th/14th April 2013

115 people attended the Memorial Weekend. It was a most enjoyable event even though it had such a sad theme. Our guest of honour was Captin George 'Gabby' King who was i/c stern party when the ship was lost. Incredibly we had five others who were in or around the ship that day including Leslie Bowles RN who was Chief Engineer. Our senior hand was Dick Chown (32-33) and it was a great pleasure to see ex member of the technical staff Lt Cdr 'Reg' Parry (42-44) and his wife at the Sunday events.

The weather in the Swellies on Sunday 14th was atrocious so our planned boat trip through the Swellies was cancelled. The wreath was laid from the Dock at Plas Newyyd by President Chris Smith (58-60) and our Honourary Chaplain Simon Douglas Lane.
